With my childhood gaming roots being mostly with Nintendo, I’ve always found myself to be a Mario and Zelda fan. That being said, I’ve never passed up the chance to play the masterpieces that come once in a blue moon. Titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Final Fantasy VII, etc. I’ve been playing Far Cry 5 on Xbox One X since it’s release and it may not be without flaw or even considered a masterpiece, but that doesn’t stop it from being an incredibly fun title that will suck you in from the moment you pick up the controller.
Far Cry 5 is set in Montana and you play the role of a local deputy trying to take down a cult that is plaguing the fictitious Hope County. Cult control of the county is divided amongst three lieutenants and you’ll spend time liberating outposts and people, destroying shrines, and completing missions in order to gain points in each of those regions. The map is vast and there are a ton of things to do. Aside from the game’s aforementioned missions, outposts and shrines; you can fish and hunt, or simply just cause mayhem by foot, land, sea or air.
This is a title definitely worth playing if you’re into open world games and love a good FPS.
